How we delivered
David Culp & Co. LLP is a full-service tax firm based of out of Huntington, Indiana with branches in Goshen and Fort Wayne. After years and years without a web presence, they contact the Studio looking for consultation on how to best approach the web. Having prior site, the Studio advised David Culp to begin with the basics. We developed a set of goals to begin with:
- Develop a solid web identity based on current branding
- Deploy a content management system flexible enough to keep information up to date
- Ensure that users have the most pertinent information
- Present David Culp & Co. LLP in a positive, professional setting that builds trust, reliability, and loyalty
- Demonstrate David Culp & Co. LLP’s position as a leader in their field
Getting Started
Given the project’s time and cost constraints, we collectively decided that the most cost-effective approach was to use WordPress, and to customize a pre-developed theme. We chose the Chameleon theme developed by ElegantThemes. It’s a fantastical and beautiful theme that was highly customizable.
The next step was to develop the look-and-feel of the site by building the homepage. Here’s the result:

Information Organization
We then integrated a simple site structure and helped Culp organize their sitemap and content into an efficient structure. It resulted the following sitemap:

- Our Philosophy

- Tools & Tips
- Contact Us
In order to build site usability, we decided to use a tabbed interface instead of using sub pages and a dropdown menu. This resulted in a more streamlined user experience, and a more beautiful interface.
Site Interactivity
We also helped David Culp & Co. LLP organize it’s contact information, which they wanted in a form of an interactive map. For usability, we separated the contact information from the map itself so that information could still be easily ‘copied and pasted’ by the user.
The final step in development was to integrate commonly used accounting tools such as Tax Estimators and College Savings advice. An example of a tool follows:
Wrapping it up
After the tools were implemented, the site was deployed. Not only was it well received by David Culp & Co. LLP, but also by the community in general. Craig Yahne of David Culp had this to say:
