How we delivered
Wilson’s Reservoir is a Goshen, IN, band. Its history goes way deep and back, to Georgia. As their about page states,
Small Town Americana music is just one way to describe Wilson’s Reservoir. Others would describe it as honest music and one of the most original sounds they’ve heard in a long time. The great folk/country story tellers, gospel, jazz, punk, post rock are to name a few influences that shine through. It’s not unusual to hear someone say they can hear a bit of Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, or Radiohead in their music. While some may try to classify their sound, they just want to write music that connects with people 20 years from now.
In 2010, they released their first LP. They commissioned Studio Ace of Spade to create the poster for that unique event and also asked us to create the poster for the following tour in support of the album – the September Tour. We wanted to maintain their down-to-earth feel with solid and strong designs; we wanted to make something tangible that people could easily relate to.
We also provided Wilson’s Reservoir our competencies in social media marketing. In the midst of the album release and of the tour scheduling, Ben, the singer/songwriter/guitar player/frontman also had his business to take care. In order to keep some sanity, he asked the Studio to handle his Facebook and Twitter accounts for him.
The Studio created a campaign to tease people about the soon to be released album, via the release of a single downloadable for free and of a few videos of an acoustic session done for the occasion (Bullets and Highway).
The second part of the campaign was the managing of the various Facebook events related to the September tour.
