How we delivered

To answer Bobby West’s needs, we decided to proceed step by step.

We began with detailed analysis of his current brand and online presence. We concluded that it would need to be updated to current standards in terms of brand, accessibility and visibility. We decided to follow a similar method for his former website, as it wasn’t efficiently achieving the goals for a web presence: inform about who is Robert, what he is doing, and how to get in touch with him.

The second step was to develop a new brand for Robert. We wanted Bobby to have a consistent and solid brand across the various communication supports he uses – from his website to his business cards and including his demo reel.

To accomplish this, we created a typographic visual identity, easily applicable on all the final products we delivered. The former brand Robert was using utilized a unique shade of orange that we decided to carry to the new branding in order to help his former clients to make the link with Robert and the new brand.

As Robert wanted to use his website as one of his key communication piece with potential clients, we developed the brand in a bold, assured and impressive way; yet, with subtle design elements that would add depth to it.

The website application of the brand seems simple, but extensive research was necessary to reach the equilibrium between a screaming message (orange can be a tricky color to work with) and a well enunciated discourse.

As was said earlier, we decided to keep the simple yet efficient structure Robert was using in his former website: a home page that includes his demo reel and summarizes who he is, his competencies and how to get in touch with him, an about page that presents him in details, gives a list of former clients and offers the ability to download his resumé, a portfolio page that presents some of the projects he has been working on and finally a contact page, which lists each and every possible way for people to get in touch with him.

On the technical side of things, the website is powered by WordPress and uses @font-face rather than images to display most of the custom typeface used for titles. We also take advantage of CSS sprites.

The brand was also used as the opening and end screens of his demo reel.
